Growing Chokos – attempt number 2

Chokos left to sprout Last weekend we made another attempt to plant chokos.  This time I had great success at getting them to sprout without starting to go rotten or mouldy.  I placed 1 choko in the back of the cupboard where we keep the potatoes and left 2 in the fuit bowl on the bench.  All three sprouted after a couple of weeks and I left them for another 2 weeks to grow a bit longer.  The choko with the white sprout was the one that was left in the cupboard. Chokos after planting We planted all three around a wire climbing frame, planted on their side (so that water will drain out and not rot the plant) and halfway covered in soil.  Hopefully at least one of them will survive the snails (and the dog).
